About Brown County High School Choirs
The mission of the Brown County High School Choir program is to create well-rounded musicians through public performance, ensemble work, and the study of music from various styles and historical periods, while cultivating an uplifting culture of inclusiveness, dedication, and pride. Our students gain an understanding of music theory and literacy concepts through the repertoire they prepare and perform as they put into practice the necessary life skills of leadership, dedication, and cooperation.

Our Director
Kristi Billings is the Director of Choral Music for Brown County High School. Prior to teaching at Brown County, Ms. Billings was an active musician and educator in Minneapolis, Minnesota for a number of years, working as both a choral conductor and studio voice instructor. She received a Bachelor's degree in Music from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she studied voice, piano, and organ, and was a member of the Augsburg Choir under the direction of Dr. Peter Hendrickson. Ms. Billings earned her teaching certificate through Augsburg College's Master of Arts in Education program, and she has completed coursework at Indiana University's Summer Kodály Institute for national certification as a Kodály music educator. In addition to working as a studio voice instructor teaching private lessons to singers, other professional experiences include serving as a conductor and accompanist for the Metropolitan Boys Choir as well as being the founding Artistic Director of the Twin Cities Girls Chorus, a professional children's choir program for girls in grades 2-12. Ms. Billings is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association for Music Educators, and the Organization of American Kodály Educators.
